The application allows users on the go to quickly and easily review, correct and approve invoices with their mobile devices through a simple and modern interface. The news comes on the heels of an exceptional Q3 for Dolphin, which saw the company revenue increase 54 percent over Q3 2014. It was the second best quarter in company history.

Dolphin’s cloud-based Advanced Approvals application is based on the SAP Fiori® user experience, featuring a user-friendly interface that enables simple access to approval tasks, exception handling, notes, and images for business users with approval authority. Streamlined Process Driven by Dolphin’s Innovative Solution Helps Transform Pepco’s Payables Approach; Results in Over $3 Million in Savings

Malvern, PA and Toronto, Canada – Date June 18, 2015 – The Southeastern Electric Exchange has awarded its Supply Chain Excellence award to Dolphin Enterprise Solutions Corporation’s customer Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI) for its innovative Accounts Payable project. PHI implemented its Invoice Improvement Project at PHI and its three utility companies, Delmarva Power & Light, Atlantic City Electric, and Pepco, in a comprehensive process-driven initiative unlike any other accounts payable project in the utility industry.

Prior to the project, PHI used a decentralized accounts payable system. Invoices were received, reviewed, approved and processed at more than 20 locations. The Invoice Improvement Project incorporated electronic, automated and paperless capabilities to centralize the accounts payable process with cutting edge technology such as advanced imaging and digitization, vendor portal access and SAP-enabled workflow solutions.

As a result, PHI reduced its average invoice processing time, which allowed for over $3 million in savings for 2014.

“Enhanced controls, increased transparency and shortened cycle times are a direct result of the process-centric innovation the Dolphin solution provides,” stated Mary Gabriel, Manager of Accounts Payable and Sarbanes-Oxley for Pepco Holdings, Inc. “We are excited about the ability to measure the process so we can continue to improve our performance.”

“In this project, PHI applied a dramatically different way of thinking to an outdated process to develop an innovative, groundbreaking approach that aligns technology and process improvements,” said Brian Shannon, Principal Business Process Management Strategist at Dolphin. “As a result, PHI has reduced costs and improved visibility.”

PHI’s Invoice Improvement Project is built around best-in-class workflow solutions, including Dolphin’s Process Tracking System for Accounts Payable. Dolphin’s PTS-AP is an SAP-certified solution for invoice optimization. It eliminates error prone manual entry; allows for rapid configuration to meet any organization’s approval rules; provides complete audit reporting throughout the approval process; includes a comprehensive vendor portal to encourage self-service and early-pay discounting; and real-time visibility for performance review. There is also an accompanying mobile application that allows for approvals to be validated while away from the office.

The Southeastern Electric Exchange will hold its 2015 S.E.E. Industry Excellence Awards on June 24 at its annual conference in Hershey, Pa., where the achievement will be recognized. To learn more about this project, visit www.Dolphin-Corp.com.

SAP Certifies Dolphin Content Archive Service for Cloud 3.0

News_Icons

Zero-Footprint Cloud Solution Lowers Cost of Storing Archived Data and Documents for Systems Running SAP® Software

MORGAN HILL, California and TORONTO, Canada (Dec. 18, 2014) – Dolphin Enterprise Solutions today announced official release and SAP certification of Dolphin Content Archive Service (CAS) for Cloud 3.0, which enables organizations running SAP® software to use popular “storage-as-service” cloud solutions such as HTTP content servers. The solution was recertified by the SAP Integration Certification Center (SAP ICC) for integration with the SAP NetWeaver® technology platform using the SAP integration scenario BC-HCS 6.40.

Dolphin CAS for Cloud 3.0 enables any SAP application that uses SAP ArchiveLink® software for structured and unstructured content storage to use cloud storage instead of more expensive on-premise storage. The solution can be used to efficiently store archived SAP data and documents, including inbound and outbound documents, printlists, DART files, and KPro-based content (e.g., business-driven data transformation, business document and communication services). It leverages built-in secured communication capabilities of SAP NetWeaver and can be used to connect to a wide variety of leading cloud storage services such as Amazon S3, AT&T Synaptic Storage, Microsoft Azure, Rackspace, EMC ATMOS, Fujitsu, Verizon and Google Storage.

The 3.0 version supports the latest SAP HTTP content server protocol version 6.40 and provides a range of new features, such one-click integration with performance benchmarking tools, local disk write-through caching, compression, and two new “encryption at rest” options that allow the content to be encrypted before it leaves the premise. This encryption is in addition to the server-side encryption offered by the cloud providers. It also provides byte/offset-based access to archived content, which is critical for data and printlist archiving and is not available in other cloud storage solutions.

The solution is designed to be easy to implement. The zero-footprint solution fits right into the SAP software landscape as an ABAP® add-on and requires no additional on-premise hardware or software. With Dolphin CAS for Cloud 3.0, most organizations can be up and running a cloud storage solution for systems running SAP software in less than a day.

“Exponential growth in data, coupled with a move towards more expensive in-memory architecture, magnifies the need for an intelligent data and document storage strategy that allows the primary system running SAP Business Suite software to stay lean. Recent improvements in stability, security, performance and bandwidth, coupled with practically unlimited elasticity of the storage-as-service cloud, have presented us with a great opportunity to tap into the cloud as a viable tier for SAP data and document archiving,” according to Vishal Awasthi, CTO at Dolphin.

Dragonfly Forest is a year-round camp program for children with Autism and Medical Needs. From early morning swims and zip lining in the afternoon, to evening campfires and talent show contests, Dragonfly Forest encourages these children to be ‘just kids’.

Founded in 2002, and having served over 3,000 campers to date, the camp’s primary goal is to help each child feel like a regular kid. At camp each child forms strong bonds with other kids, and when they leave their week in paradise, they leave with a unique network of friends. As a result of the summer camp, Dragonfly Forest has found that, even months after leaving, children have an increased independence and confidence, better relationships with peers, teamwork capabilities, better dealing with challenging situations, developed leadership skills, better attention to activities or tasks and their completion, and the ability to better communicate feelings and thoughts. “Cash is truly the lifeblood of any organization, yet important business processes that support the receipt or distribution of cash are hampered by inefficient, time-consuming manual paper processes that are relegated to the ‘back office’ as if they are less important priorities,” says Shannon. “Optimizing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes within the SAP platform goes deeper than document capture or automation through the ability to accelerate cycle times and reduce overall cost while delivering improved cash flow, transparency and intelligence.”

Fusion 2014 is the premier conference and training event for financial operations professionals. To learn more about Dolphin’s session or how its solutions can help your organization achieve transformative business management improvement, stop by booth 623 or www.dolphin-corp.com.

Dolphin Announces New Accounts Receivable Solution to Rapidly Accelerate Processing Time of Decoupled Electronic Payments in SAP® Solution Environments

News_Icons

New software released on eve of SAP TechEd enhances electronic receivables processing by matching decoupled payments and remittance advices

Morgan Hill, CA and Toronto, Canada – October 20, 2013Dolphin Enterprise Solutions Corporation, an SAP® software solution and technology partner, today launched a new solution under its Accounts Receivable solutions portfolio for SAP solution environments. The new Dolphin solution rapidly accelerates the processing time of electronic payments by automating the capture of remittance information and its matching to the decoupled electronic payment. This new feature extends the benefits of Dolphin’s Process Tracking System for Accounts Receivable (PTS-AR) with the ability to now process any payment transaction type.

The solution enables the processing of decoupled electronic payments and remittance information in payment formats including ACH and wire transfers. Decoupled remittance advice information can be imported through the PTS-AR gateway as web downloads, email attachments or text within the body of the email. Dolphin’s configurable data parsing, open item resolution and reason code matching logic automates and simplifies correlation of the separate pieces of the transaction. This component can be complemented with optical character recognition (OCR) for unstructured email attachments such as PDF files or web download automation components to further improve process productivity. The result is reduced processing costs, minimal user intervention and faster cash application.

“Electronic payments such as ACH or wire are the fastest growing payment methods between businesses. However, the process of matching the open AR and electronic payment with the proper remittance details capture can be costly, complicated and impact cash flow,” said Vishal Awasthi, Dolphin’s Chief Technology Officer. “By automating this process within SAP environments with Dolphin’s new solution, businesses can now recognize improved efficiencies to drive cost savings, unlock additional cash flow and further optimize their existing investment in SAP technology. We anticipate this solution will further enhance Dolphin’s position as a multi-channel receivables gateway solutions provider.”

PTS-AR is designed to optimize the cash application process that companies perform using accounts receivable software from SAP AG (NYSE: SAP). Additional benefits of PTS-AR include discrepancy management, 360 degree visibility in the cash application process, and decreased days sales outstanding (DSO).

Dolphin, which offers an extensive portfolio of business process and data management solutions exclusively designed for SAP environments, is participating in SAP TechEd Las Vegas Oct. 21-25 and will be in booth 118. As a leading provider of SAP add-on solutions that work with more than one third of FORTUNE 100™ companies deploying SAP environments, Dolphin has experienced record growth for four consecutive fiscal quarters.

Dolphin’s End-to-end Solution Leverages Existing SAP® Systems to Realize Cost Savings on Paper and Electronic Purchase related Invoice Processes

Morgan Hill, CA and Toronto, Canada (July 31 , 2013) – Three multi-billion dollar, global oil and gas providers have selected Dolphin’s end-to-end procure-to-pay solution in the second quarter of 2013 to enhance P2P processes in SAP® applications . By adding the Dolphin Process Tracking System for Accounts Payable (PTS -AP ) ™ and dynamic discounting, accounts payable vendor portal and electronic invoicing powered by Taulia, these new Dolphin customers will further enhance the processing of paper and electronic purchase requisitions and invoices to realize significant cost savings and increased return on investment.

All three companies sought a solution provider with the proven capabilities to help leverage existing SAP® Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System investment and a strategic partner with a comprehensive understanding of the specialized and varying needs of the industry , including the business requirements of real time data processing in a highly decentralized environment and multiple languages.

“Operating in both a highly regulated industry and in primarily decentralized environments where vast volumes of data are simultaneously being created, shared and processed from remote locations across the globe can be extremely challenging to global oil and gas companies,” said Dr. Werner Hopf, CEO of Dolphin. “Optimal business process performance is paramount, and it’s critical that data be highly accessible from the very initial point of entry to prevent processes such as P2P from breaking down. By shortening processing cycles and allowing real-time access to information, cash flow can be increased allowing for fast and accurate decisions that further generate additional profit.”

For one new oil and gas customer, Dolphin architected a solution to help handle P2P processing from ocean vessels at sea to overcome inherent delays. They will now seamlessly be able to process data while also gain a 360 – degree view of all information for real-time visibility. Dolphin’s SAP®-certified solution suite for SAP business processes was developed using SAP technology and the SAP Business Workflow engine. Each customer will benefit from the immediate electronic capture of invoices. This allows for the automation of approvals and other exception handling while also providing executives and managers with a real-time view of the process, tracking each step. By stream lining P2P processes, each company will experience actual cash savings, improved cash flows and a speedy return on investment. All three customers identified Dolphin as the one vendor which demonstrated the ability to help locate cost-savings opportunities and take steps to realize efficiencies on an ongoing basis with a highly scalable solution.

The solution is deployed at companies that process from 10,000 to more than 6 million in voices per year. Dolphin’s business process management solutions are deployed upstream, midstream and downstream by leading energy companies to help them reduce the bottom-line leakage due to delays, inefficiencies and inconsistent processes, ensuring capital preservation from start to finish.

Revenue Rises Nearly 50 Percent as SAP® Software Partner Reports Strong Year-Over-Year Growth; Increased Customer Adoption of Multiple Solution Suites

West Chester, PA – April 30, 2013 – Dolphin, a solution provider and SAP® software partner, today announced that Q1 2013 was its most successful first quarter in the company’s eighteen-year history. The company achieved year-over-year revenue growth of nearly 50 percent from Q1 2012 and 20 percent growth from the preceding quarter, Q4 2012.

In addition to its overall revenue growth, Dolphin’s Business Process Management (BPM) solutions realized an increase of greater than 260 percent during the quarter over the previous year. This growth was driven in part by increased sales to multiple long-time Data Lifecycle Management customers. More specifically, companies using Dolphin’s data archiving solutions for SAP systems are increasingly turning to Dolphin for help with automating and optimizing procure-to-pay (P2P), order-to-cash and other business processes. This includes global leaders in oil and gas, energy, manufacturing, and consumer electronics who have purchased Dolphin’s Process Tracking System for SAP Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable for its overall flexibility and to leverage its tight integration with SAP Financials, as well as the company’s deep process and SAP expertise.

“To keep hitting our annual growth targets and maintain the profitability we’ve been achieving year-over-year, we continue to invest in our people and our solutions,” said Art Smithson, Chief Financial Officer, Dolphin. “With one-third of FORTUNE 100 companies running SAP applications having implemented our solutions, this is especially important to us as we continue to grow our roster of notable corporations.”

Dolphin continues to invest in and sustain its recognized leadership in SAP data archiving and data lifecycle management. Sales of traditional solutions in this area remain strong, along with newer products such as field level data encryption, Dolphin’s solution to store SAP archived data and documents to Cloud with transparent retrieval, and nearline storage (NLS) for archive data from SAP systems including SAP HANA™ applications. To help keep pace with this rise in demand, Dolphin has added an average of one employee per month over the last twelve months. A 100 percent employee owned company, Dolphin has maintained an average annual growth of more than 15 percent for the past five years.

Major Utility Selects Dolphin for First SAP BW Archiving Implementation
on SAP HANA

WEST CHESTER, Pennsylvania and MORGAN HILL, California – Dec. 17, 2012 – One of the nation’s largest electric utilities, serving more than 14 million people in Southern California, has selected Dolphin, a solution provider and SAP software partner, for the company’s archiving strategy for SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse (BW) on the HANA platform.

To manage the database size of their new SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse (BW) powered by SAP HANA, the utility will be using a nearline storage solution with analytics to manage database size and ensure optimal performance and control costs.

This is the first implementation of SAP NetWeaver BW archiving and analytics on SAP HANA in North America for Dolphin and PBS Software GmbH, a leading provider of SAP add-on software in the areas of data archiving, extraction and storage. The solution, PBS CBW NLS, has been certified for integration with SAP NetWeaver via SAP integration scenario NW-BW-NLS 7.3 on the SAP HANA platform. Dolphin is the implementation partner and reseller of PBS products in the Western Hemisphere.

“Managing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) was a key factor for this utility,” said Dr. Werner Hopf, CEO of Dolphin and director of the company’s archiving practice. “SAP NetWeaver BW on SAP HANA implementation with PBS nearline storage is critical to reducing costs. With PBS nearline storage, the company can aggressively self-manage database growth, setting parameters that keep the database size flat which controls cost—a tangible benefit.”

Dolphin’s portfolio of data volume management solutions and services specifically for SAP applications simplify data archiving and maintain rapid, transparent access to the information businesses need to thrive.

Dolphin Launches Content Gateway for Accounts Payable Mobile Strategies

News_Icons

PTS-AP GW Content 5.0 Achieves SAP Certification as Powered by SAP NetWeaver®

WEST CHESTER, October 22, 2012 – Dolphin announced today the release of its PTS-AP (Process Tracking System for Accounts Payable) GW Content 5.0. The solution has been certified by SAP as powered by the SAP NetWeaver® technology platform. PTS-AP GW Content 5.0 lays the foundation for flexible, next-generation user interfaces that help enhance user productivity, delivering more functionality and greater usability to users.

Dolphin’s PTS-AP GW Content 5.0 has been certified by the SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) for integration with SAP NetWeaver Gateway 2.0 technology. It has also demonstrated capabilities of deployment as an add-on to the ABAP® programming language. In pursuit of further productivity gains for the users of the solution, Dolphin plans to extend the support to native mobile platforms in the future.

“With the latest advancements in web and mobile technologies and SAP’s mobile strategy, there is a move towards AJAX and, more recently, HTML5. The SAP mobile platform – which includes SAP NetWeaver Gateway – provides an excellent framework for exposing ABAP-based standard and third-party business applications to these newer consumption channels via oData-based RESTful web services,” says Vishal Awasthi, Dolphin CTO. “We chose to leverage this framework now to enable quick future delivery of the core Dolphin PTS-AP solution content to mobile environments such as iOS or Android in a fashion that is aligned with the SAP mobile platform.”

Dolphin’s PTS-AP platform for use with SAP® accounts payable applications provides a central point of ingestion, access and exception handling to all accounts payable invoice data into the SAP ERP application – regardless of the status or the delivery channel.  In essence, it provides an agnostic invoice entry and auto-posting gateway and opens up the ‘black box’ from within the SAP solution to provide visibility to where the invoices are in the routing process, as well as fast access to the full invoice history, approval status, and original document images.

Dolphin’s PTS-AP GW Content 5.0 is available now to all new Dolphin accounts payable automation customers, and to current customers as an upgrade.  For more information, download our Accounts Payable solution sheet, or contact Dolphin contact@dolphin-corp.com.

Dolphin Adds Another Level of Security in Support of SAP Solution Data

News_Icons

New solutions protect a broad range of sensitive data within SAP solutions including personally identifiable and payment card information.

WEST CHESTER, Pennsylvania and MORGAN HILL, California – Sept. 20, 2012 – Dolphin, a solution provider for organizations using SAP® solutions, has introduced two new, unique applications designed to keep SAP solution data secure, regardless of whether it is active or archived.

The Data Management Cockpit and Archive Management Cockpit allow companies to mask sensitive data in SAP solutions as well as provide the capability to work with data outside of the standard archiving/purge programs when the process does not remove all the data. Dolphin’s Archive Management Cockpit can encrypt data that has been archived in SAP applications.

Dolphin’s Data Management Cockpit enables specific fields in live SAP solutions to be masked and yet still have the SAP records accessible, which provides transparent, uninterrupted access to information with an increased level of protection. Dolphin’s Archive Management Cockpit automates the encryption of data that was previously archived without encrypted protection or has lost encryption due to archiving. This allows companies to quickly protect data and comply with retroactive regulatory requirements such as the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards or the Personally Identifiable Information (PII) Act. Dolphin is one of the few SAP software solution and technology partners offering post-archived data encryption.

The new products are the latest solutions from Dolphin to address the information lifecycle management needs of companies running SAP solutions. Dolphin improves business performance by helping companies more effectively manage information to contain costs and gain actionable intelligence. The company’s information lifecycle management solution suite includes data archiving in support of SAP solutions, data and document retention, nearline storage and analytics, legacy decommissioning, and the implementation of comprehensive data management strategies and database health checks.

“The products have been designed to be highly configurable, allowing the encryption of company data in SAP solutions and archive files, as well as the flexibility to apply varied encryption technologies or other custom rule-based data cleansing, built on an organization’s corporate standards for data governance,” states Dolphin’s ILM Product Manager, Thomas Langner.

New federal, state and international regulatory and statutory requirements mandate the protection of personally identifiable information and encryption of payment card industry data, and there are similar security requirements for existing human resources documents and medical and financial information under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). Industry analysts expect many corporations will need to rapidly meet the new data encryption obligations or face significant fines for non-compliance. Dolphin’s new solutions are specifically designed to address these needs.

“The simplicity and speed of our new Data and Archive Management Cockpit solutions make it easier than ever for companies that run SAP solutions to further protect private data, even after it has been archived,” said Dolphin Chief Technology Officer Vishal Awasthi, who oversees the company’s new product development process. “Ensuring corporate compliance with new data protection laws is critical to minimizing legal liability as well as positioning the enterprise for greater flexibility in the future.”

These new Data and Archive Management Cockpit solutions also have a wide range of applications beyond personally identifiable information and payment card data. These solutions have value for governance, risk management and compliance, including the protection of important corporate intellectual property during divestitures when a company sells a business unit or splits it off as a standalone company and must ensure the protection of data for both parties.

For more information about the new Data and Archive Management Cockpit solutions for use with SAP solutions, visit Dolphin online at www.dolphin-corp.com or email contact@dolphin-corp.com. Dolphin Content Archive Service for Cloud 2.0 Achieves SAP Certification

News_Icons

“Zero-Footprint” Cloud Solution in Support of Archived SAP Data and Documents

SAN JOSE, California (June 30, 2011) – Dolphin today announced its Content Archive Service (CAS) for Cloud 2.0 has achieved SAP certification as powered by the SAP NetWeaver® technology platform. The solution has been proven to integrate with SAP® solutions, providing users access to cloud services as a repository to the SAP ArchiveLink® software. The cloud solution is SAP-certified for archived SAP data and documents and does not require any new on-premise infrastructure.

The SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) has certified that Content Archive Service for Cloud 2.0 integrates with the SAP ERP 6.0 application via the ABAP™ add-on 7.0 integration scenario. In addition, Dolphin CAS for Cloud 2.0 has achieved “SAP Solution Manager Ready” status.

Dolphin’s interface approach leverages SAP NetWeaver’s built-in secured communication capabilities to connect to cloud storage platforms, such as AT&T Synaptic, Amazon S3, Google Storage Cloud and others. This allows Dolphin to offer a very lean server architecture based on SAP ArchiveLink that requires no additional infrastructure component and fits right into the SAP landscape as an ABAP add-on. As a direct connection to the cloud, it offers superior implementation and speed compared to classic file system-based cloud connection options, where content is streamed through an intermediate file system requiring temporary local storage, yielding slower performance. More importantly, Dolphin CAS for Cloud 2.0 offers byte/offset-based access to archived content that is critical for data and printlist archiving, which is not available in file system-based cloud connections. Elimination of any new on-premise infrastructure requirement for the connector means this solution can be up and running in less than a day.

Cloud services offer dramatic operational cost savings while maintaining seamless access to data and documents. Adding the cloud storage tier to the storage strategy frees organizations to invest in high performance access for frequently used data while shifting seldom-used data to a lower cost and infinitely elastic cloud storage service.

With data storage and archiving needs constantly rising, cloud-based offerings are a cost effective alternative to continued expansion of in-house infrastructure or relief from existing software and systems that have reached their cost-effectiveness limits. This further enables IT to align the business value of the data with the cost of storage, without the overhead of added complexity to the IT environment or additional capital expenditure.

As Dolphin CAS for Cloud 2.0 supports SAP ArchiveLink, all existing applications that use SAP ArchiveLink for structured and unstructured content storage can now use cloud services for operations such as the following:

    • Outbound document archiving, e.g., SAP billing output
    • Inbound document archiving, e.g., inbound AP invoices
    • SAP printlist archiving
    • SAP data archiving
    • DART file archiving
    • KPro based content storage, e.g., document management and office capabilities in SAP ERP

“In addition to the lean, on-premise storage option, the advent of cloud computing and recent improvements in stability, performance and bandwidth coupled with practically unlimited elasticity of the cloud has presented us with a great opportunity to tap into the cloud as a viable tier for use with SAP data and document archiving,” according to Vishal Awasthi, CTO at Dolphin.

Major Companies Choose Dolphin’s Process Tracking System to Optimize Accounts Payable Processes in Support of SAP® Solutions

ORLANDO, Fla. (May 15, 2011) – Dolphin today announced that several major organizations have recently chosen to implement Dolphin’s Process Tracking System for Accounts Payable, Dolphin PTS-AP, to optimize accounts payable business processes in support of SAP® solutions. Additionally, many long-time Dolphin customers are realizing the benefits and increased functionality of an upgrade to the latest version of Dolphin PTS-AP Core, 5.0. Built on the SAP NetWeaver® technology platform, Dolphin PTS AP Core 5.0 has been certified by the SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) for integration with the SAP ERP 6.0 application via the ABAP™ 7.0 integration scenario. It delivers greater transparency and visibility to transform business processes, Included is an easy-to-use automated workflow, leveraging the SAP Business Workflow tool, for exception handling, advanced approvals and increased process visibility. Enhanced management reporting provides insight to improve controls, reduce processing cost and optimize cash flow.

Continued economic pressures necessitate ongoing corporate innovation for sustainable cost reduction. In accounts payable environments, this translates to streamlining the invoice-to-pay process by normalizing and reducing data entry, enabling instant access to information across the enterprise, ensuring controls and improving visibility. This helps companies manage cash flows and increase productivity in a cost-efficient manner—without business risk. For companies running SAP solutions, Dolphin leverages SAP tools and applications so customers not only optimize their processes, but do it while supporting compliance mandates and minimizing the impact to their infrastructure.

Among the new customers choosing Dolphin Processing Tracking System for Accounts Payable (PTS-AP) is a manufacturer of phosphates, phosphoric acid and phosphorus chemicals used in a variety of applications and industries that consolidated processing from multiple plants to one corporate location to improve control, transparency and efficiency in its AP process. A second phase of its project will include the implementation of optical character recognition (OCR) to eliminate manual data entry. Dolphin PTS-AP facilitates “hands-free” processing of invoices and delivers a 360-degree view of the accounts payable process.

The largest manufacturer of motion control products is implementing Dolphin PTS-AP to automate its approval process and deploying Dolphin’s Web-based Advanced Approval solution, as many of the approvers are not users of SAP solutions. Dolphin’s dynamic discounting capabilities and a vendor portal for AP, a software as a service solution, will be addressed in a second project phase.

Implementing the SAP Supplier Relationship Management (SAP SRM) application motivated a large multi-national medical information corporation to expand its objectives to optimize Accounts Payable as well. Increasing volumes, the need to do more with less and demands for transparency to the entire process led it to the Dolphin solution suite. Looking to leverage its implementations of SAP applications, the company selected the Dolphin Process Tracking System for Accounts Payable. The solution is based on the SAP NetWeaver platform, utilizes SAP Business Workflow, and has its own name space in SAP ERP— /DOL/, . The certified solution provides PTS-AP reports and advanced workflow, allowing users to quickly process and post invoices and credit memos to SAP ERP.

In addition, the last few months have found several existing Dolphin customers in the process of extending the Dolphin footprint by adding new enhancements and upgrading to the latest version of Dolphin PTS-AP. One of them, a large international chemical company, expanded its capabilities by streamlining the administration of EDI invoices, added Dolphin’s Web-based Payment Request processing solution and addressed an ongoing issue of unresolved blocks on invoices by deploying Dolphin’s Block Resolution solution to further optimize its workflow capabilities. The company’s goal is to standardize the capture of electronic invoices via standard EXtensible Mark-up Language (XML) format and, in the process, also enable the Brazilian Nota Fiscal requirement compatibility. With Dolphin PTS-AP, the company can now process invoices from numerous sources and formats, including EDI, with simplified exception handling and complete visibility for the entire life cycle of the invoice. This has created a sustainable cost reduction across the board.

A Fortune 100 manufacturer of global safety, security and energy systems that had previously implemented Dolphin PTS-AP with OCR for a major division, made the solution its corporate standard last quarter, and has started rolling out Dolphin Processing Tracking System for Accounts Payable to its other business units worldwide. Selected capture capabilities include OCR and ingestion of EDI transactions, for which a human-readable image is created. The AP department can now handle the exceptions for invoices regardless of source (EDI, scanned, emailed and faxed) within one tool. Other new features selected are Blocked Invoice Resolution, Web-based Payment Request processes, Advanced Approvals and Service Entry and Acceptance, which streamline entry, evaluation and acceptance of service details or timesheets, using the same Dolphin PTS-AP invoice entry process and workflow model.

Another customer, a leader in the design and production of solutions for aerospace and defense, is upgrading to Dolphin PTS-AP and taking the opportunity to add OCR to address the fast-growing number of invoices, reduce errors with line-item matching of invoices and purchase orders, allowing touchless postings and extending the reach of advanced workflow to include automated purchase order approvals.

Dolphin PTS AP Core 5.0—SAP Certified as “Powered by SAP NetWeaver”
Dolphin Process Tracking System for Accounts Payable—PTS AP Core 5.0, which has achieved SAP certification as powered by SAP NetWeaver, takes the time and cost out of the AP business process with easy-to-use dashboards that enable visibility into the process, instantly providing real-time information. In addition, robust analytics provide the necessary tools—and information—to better manage cash flow. Dolphin PTS-AP is integrated with the SAP Business Workflow tool and third-party content management solutions, as well as open interfaces to image-capture solutions, such as OCR and e-Invoicing networks. It also leverages an organization’s existing investment in SAP solutions, instead of imposing a new platform on the IT infrastructure.

The latest version of Dolphin Process Tracking System for Accounts Payable, PTS-AP 5.0, includes greater automation for Accounts Payable in the areas of exception and approval management, blocked invoice resolution and payment request processes. Web-based toolsets, including Advanced Approvals and vendor self-service portals with Dolphin’s dynamic discounting capabilities, extend the reach of the solution beyond day-to-day usage. Advanced reporting features can leverage the functionality of the SAP Business Objects™ solution portfolio and enable tracking of invoice volume, status and AP process productivity, all contributing to sustainable and measurable cost-reductions.

Dolphin Enables SAP Data and Document Archiving to AT&T Synaptic Storage as a Service

Dolphin ArchiveLink Enabler for AT&T Synaptic Storage as a Service makes possible seamless cloud storage for SAP system archiving, allowing IT departments to intelligently reduce the cost of storage.

LAS VEGAS (October 18, 2010)—Dolphin today announced Dolphin ArchiveLink Enabler for Cloud Storage, a new SAP add-on that allows users of SAP applications to use AT&T Synaptic Storage as a Service as an ArchiveLink repository.

With Dolphin’s solution, users of SAP solutions can take advantage of the dramatic operational cost savings possible with AT&T Synaptic Storage as a Service, while maintaining seamless access to data and documents.

“The AT&T Synaptic Storage-as-a-Service option lets users add cloud storage to their data and document management strategy,” said Werner Hopf, CEO, Dolphin. “Adding the cloud storage tier lets users align the cost of storage with the value of their data. It frees customers to invest in high performance access for current, frequently used data, while shifting seldom used data and documents to a lower cost and practically infinitely elastic cloud storage services.”

Hopf notes that cloud computing has seen dramatic improvements in stability, performance and bandwidth.

“With data storage and archiving needs constantly rising, cloud-based storage-as-a-service offerings such as AT&T Synaptic are clearly a viable and cost-effective alternative to constant expansion of in-house infrastructure,” Hopf said.

Dolphin ArchiveLink Enabler—How it Works
Typically, ArchiveLink servers are connectors that link enterprise content management (ECM), document management or local storage devices to SAP applications for long-term storage of documents and archived data. These connectors require a server infrastructure outside of the SAP application. Dolphin ArchiveLink Enabler interface leverages the SAP NetWeaver server’s built-in secure communication capabilities to connect to the AT&T Synaptic Storage cloud. This unique approach allows Dolphin to offer a very lean ArchiveLink server architecture that requires no additional infrastructure component and fits right in to the SAP landscape as an SAP ABAP Add-on.

“This direct connection to cloud storage offers a better implementation than the classic file system-based cloud connection options, where content is streamed to and from cloud through an intermediate file system,” said Vishal Awasthi, Dolphin’s chief technology officer. “The result is faster performance and byte/offset based access to the archived content, which is critical for efficient retrieval of archived SAP data and print lists.”

Because the Dolphin ArchiveLink Enabler implements the SAP ArchiveLink protocol, all existing applications in the SAP solution that use ArchiveLink can seamlessly use cloud for those operations. Common operations include:

  •   Outbound document archiving, e.g. SAP billing output
  •   Inbound document archiving (e.g. inbound AP invoices)
  •   SAP print list archiving
  •   SAP data archiving
  •   DART file archiving
  •   KPro based content storage (e.g. SAP DMS, SAPOffice)

With Dolphin Document Navigator & Output 3.0 Integrated with SAP® Solutions, Dolphin Simplifies SAP Search, Navigation and Mass Output of Linked Documents

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (October 18, 2010)—Dolphin today announced the newest release of its Document Navigator and Output solution, designed for use with SAP® applications. Document Navigator and Output 3.0 enhances user productivity and flexibility with richer capabilities and an enhanced user experience, and offers a Web interface based on the SAP NetWeaver® technology platform that opens secure access to SAP documents through users’ Web browsers.

Business users often need quick access to all documents relating to a process, date range or common attributes. Dolphin’s Document Navigator and Output solution, in support of SAP applications, streamlines document indexing and search—making it easy to find and access documents whether they are archived or online.

With the 3.0 release of Dolphin Document Navigator and Output, users can package and output a large number of common documents—for example, all documents relating to a single vendor—and access Document Navigator and Output capabilities via a Web interface.

“Dolphin’s platform allows linked unstructured documents to be accessed and output in a productive fashion, and makes it possible for SAP solutions to be used as an engine for managing documents and reports that may not even be related to SAP transactions,” said Vishal Awasthi, chief technology officer, Dolphin.

Document Navigator and Output 3.0 new features include:

  • Dolphin Document Navigator as a Web Service. This allows simple integration of Document Navigator and Output with non-SAP applications that may need access to documents linked to SAP transactions.
  • Web user interface that can be accessed as a standalone Web application or via an iView portlet.
  • New framework to support integration of Document Navigator and Output with standard SAP transactions.
  • Support of PP/PM shop-papers in a package output scenario.
  • Integration with information lifecycle management (ILM) components to allow queries based on retention attributes of documents.

Today’s announcement was made at the SAP TechEd 2010 Las Vegas conference being held Oct. 18-22 at the Venetian/Palazzo Congress Center. Dolphin is exhibiting at SAP TechEd 2010 in booth 107.

WEST CHESTER, PA and SAN FRANCISCO, CA (July 12, 2010) — Dolphin and Taulia today announce a strategic partnership to unveil a fully integrated solution that includes discount management, vendor portal and an accounts payable automation and optimization solution for the SAP environment.

Dolphin incorporated Taulia’s hosted vendor portal and dynamic discounting capabilities into Dolphin’s Process Tracking System for Accounts Payable platform. The result is a comprehensive solution that streamlines and optimizes the AP process, lowers total cost of invoice processing, and enables corporations to reduce total spend by taking advantage of early payment discounts.

Dolphin optimizes accounts payable processes for organizations using SAP solutions through its best-in-class capture technologies, process tracking and advanced analytics. Taulia’s Invoicement Suite adds an easy-to-use, SAP-integrated web hosted (SaaS) vendor portal and immediate dynamic discounting capabilities. Suppliers can securely access the vendor portal to view invoice and payment status, download purchase orders and turn purchase orders into invoices. They also can opt for earlier payment of approved invoices against additional discounts.

The vendor portal is free for suppliers and delivers immediate ROI for corporate buyers, according to Brian Shannon, Principal for Business Process Management at Dolphin. “Integrating Taulia’s suite into the Dolphin platform for AP optimization opens new opportunities to manage cash flow in the invoice-to-pay workflow,” Shannon noted. “Customers will benefit from easier vendor management through the vendor portal and position themselves to maximize the use of their capital through dynamic discounting.”

Taulia CEO and founder Bertram Meyer sees dynamic discounting as a new way for customers to “leverage AP automation and improve the overall business case.”

“The Taulia Invoicement Suite gives major corporations the agility they need to offer and take advantage of early payments – risk free and without additional effort. Significant savings result from the ability to capture a discount on all invoices,” Meyer said. “We’re pleased to partner with Dolphin, which has an extensive track record with major corporations and deep, SAP-focused expertise in financial process automation solutions.”
